APPLICATION PATH

Robust Design Engineer

The application path is a set of course modules followed by a support period to ensure application of methods and theory in practice.

Course objectives

After course completion the participant will be able to:

  • Be able to apply the tools & methods from the Kinematics Pro and Tolerance Basics modules
  • Be able to set assumptions and start guesses for a design based on Robust Design principles
  • Link production requirements to specifications for function, tolerances, and kinematics
  • Be able to draw the first lines of a new product and/or make the foundation for a redesign
  • Be able to define work-task and work packages
  • Be able to plan and forecast robust design activities
  • Be able to communicate the status & progress of robust design activities

Application format

  • After the theory/training part the participants will enter a project/application period
  • Participants will work in project teams of 1-4 members
  • Teams will work with their own products and apply Robust Design theory with sparring from RD8 professionals

Support/sparring

~8 check-ins per team

Open courses are available for everyone. Open courses are hosted online via MS Teams.

For groups of more than 8 people - private - classroom style training will be scheduled.
