Training: M2.1 – Transfer Functions

MODULE

Product Functions: Transfer Functions

This module enables participants to work with product functions by Robust Design theories - hence empowering the participant to forecast performance of mechanical products.

Course objectives

After course completion the participant will be able to:

  • Understand the basics of transfer functions
  • Be able to describe a function by math
  • Be able to calculate the sensitivity of functions
  • Apply methods and strategies to lower the sensitivity of designs
  • Be able to communicate sensitivity by robust design metrics
  • Know how to document best practices
  • Know how to apply Monte Carlo simulations
  • Know how to apply target setting
  • Know how to link/include tolerance chains to transfer functions
  • Be able to evaluate the performance
  • Be able to report into the “Function Index”
  • Know workflows for working with transfer functions
  • Be able to provide a product overview of functions
