MODULE
Product Functions: Transfer Functions
This module enables participants to work with product functions by Robust Design theories - hence empowering the participant to forecast performance of mechanical products.
Course objectives
After course completion the participant will be able to:
- Understand the basics of transfer functions
- Be able to describe a function by math
- Be able to calculate the sensitivity of functions
- Apply methods and strategies to lower the sensitivity of designs
- Be able to communicate sensitivity by robust design metrics
- Know how to document best practices
- Know how to apply Monte Carlo simulations
- Know how to apply target setting
- Know how to link/include tolerance chains to transfer functions
- Be able to evaluate the performance
- Be able to report into the “Function Index”
- Know workflows for working with transfer functions
- Be able to provide a product overview of functions
